<title>A Conference of Marmots</title>
<description>For Dan. (I thought a had a photo album of Marmots, but either I&#x27;m losing my mind or it has vanished. Maybe that&#x27;s not an either.) For more from this trip, see my &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.flickr.com/photos/bclee/sets/72157600654735180/&#x22;&#x3E;Utah July 2007 Trip&#x3C;/a&#x3E; set on Flickr. <title>Coffee: A Tragedy</title>
<description> Yesterday morning &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://amybroox.multiply.com/&#x22;&#x3E;Amy&#x3C;/a&#x3E; got up pretty late.&#x26;nbsp; Which means I got up really late.&#x26;nbsp; And neither of us really had time to make coffee.&#x26;nbsp; So I got out the instant coffee, because it&#x27;s not actually possible for me to remember where I work without at least one cup of coffee.&#x3C;br&#x3E;&#x3C;br&#x3E;Sadly, we were out of teaspoons, so I grabbed a tablespoon.&#x26;nbsp; This mistake came into clear focus about an hour later, when I was having one of those so-awake-I-can-feel/hear-my-heart-beating experiences, and I realized that I had put a tablespoon of instant coffee in my cup, not the teaspoon called for in the directions.&#x26;nbsp; And it was a heaping tablespoon at that.&#x26;nbsp; That&#x27;s like what, 4-6 cups of coffee in one?&#x26;nbsp; (And strangely I did not notice anything funny about the coffee at the time.)&#x3C;br&#x3E;&#x3C;br&#x3E;So, the tragedy: I had so much caffeine in my system that when I got to work I didn&#x27;t want any real coffee, even though we have an infinite supply of free Peet&#x27;s coffee at work.&#x3C;br&#x3E;&#x3C;br&#x3E;(And I had a terrible headache yes...</description>

<title>Driving Home</title>
<description>This is the result of a geotagging experiment, I wanted to see how well &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.houdah.com/houdahGeo/&#x22;&#x3E;HoudahGeo&#x3C;/a&#x3E; would do with matching up pictures to the GPS log at highway speeds, if I got my camera and GPS in as good of sync as possible. &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.flickr.com/photos/bclee/525621678/&#x22;&#x3E;It does pretty well, actually.&#x3C;/a&#x3E; And I decided that at long as I had the pictures I might as well make a movie from it. If you watch closely you&#x27;ll see a picture of a mission -- in fact the mission that is the reason &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.flickr.com/photos/bclee/110883371/&#x22;&#x3E;Mission Peak&#x3C;/a&#x3E; is called Mission Peak. <title>Argh.</title>
<description>I was feeling bad about neglecting Multiply, and I&#x27;ve been slowly scanning a lot of old slides and photos, mostly of southwestern US rock art. So I thought I&#x27;d add some here. I spent about an hour picking the best of those, uploading them, adding descriptions, etc. Only when I added it, all the titles and descriptions vanished. And no matter what I did it would never post, it was stuck as a draft. Eventually I tried deleting it and reposting it, but that didn&#x27;t work either. Argh.&#x3C;br&#x3E;&#x3C;br&#x3E;So for now at least I give up. I&#x27;ve posted all those same photos on &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.flickr.com/photos/bclee/&#x22;&#x3E;my Flickr page&#x3C;/a&#x3E;, so you can go check them out there instead. This is from March 11, 2006, the second day in a row Mission Peak had snow. Considering it&#x27;s only about 2500 ft tall, and in Fremont, CA, near the coast, snow is a pretty unusual thing on Mission Peak. So should it worry me that in March we had several weeks of regular snow at the higher elevations around here, and then in July over a week of record high temperatures? It&#x27;s almost like California is getting seasons.

I&#x27;ll start with some 1920x1200 (or slightly larger) images, but maybe I&#x27;ll add some older 1600x1200 stuff as I go along. Those are the two monitor sizes I&#x27;ve had recently, if you want anything larger, buy me a new monitor!
